Memorial website in the memory of your loved one
This memorial website was created for family and friends , for the enduring memory of our beloved one, Gary Steven Rudolf who was born in New Rochelle, New York on February 04, 1954 and passed away on July 18, 2006 at the age of 52.    His family moved to the Los Angeles area in 1955 where he has resided ever since.

Due to the influence of his older brother Bob, Gary was exposed to a wide variety of music- ranging from Marty Robbins & Pete Seeger to Dave Brubeck & Beethoven.

Seeing flamenco artist Carlos Montoya on the Ed Sullivan Show solidified Gary's commitment at a very young age to become an accomplished guitarist and as a student of Frank Hamilton of The Weavers; Will Ray of The Hellecasters; & master guitar instructor, author Ted Greene, Gary obtained a wide musical palette to draw from.

Leaning towards folk & country music initially, ("I was fascinated with the idea of making a Telecaster sound like a steel guitar.") then drawing influences from rock & blues players Gary started jamming in high school "garage bands" and subsequently moved on to the "night club circuit" soon becoming one of L.A.'s most sought after guitarists for session & club work.

After teaching guitar to forty students a week at the Music Scene in Reseda, CA. for six years, Gary started doing road work with various artists and as a result played opening acts for Buck Owens, John Anderson, Trace Adkins, Marc Chestnut, Tracy Byrd, and his ultimate guitar hero, Chet Atkins (together in photo album). With endorsements from Dimarzio, Groove Tubes, and Hipshot Music Productions

Beloved Gary has  touched so many of us with his great style of guitar playing. He is no doubt being welcomed by the great players who have passed on before him-
Chet Atkins, Jimi Hendrix, Ted Greene, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Danny Gatton and other brothers of music who are playing together in Gods' pure light, as one. He is greatly missed and will NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

We welcome any additions of music, photos, stories, Love and anything you would like to share on this special memorial site.
